this is nice
So today in my JCOM 1300 class we were told we have to write a person profile, highlighting a conflict in our life. Something we struggled with that makes us who we are. Something about us that is different for us than it is for anyone else.
As I was pondering over what conflicts I've had in my life, I reazlied that there's never really been anything.
Yes, my parents got divorced.
Yes, my dad moved to California.
Yes, I've had issues with my high school friends.
But looking back on all of these, none of them really made me who I am.
I asked my parents what they thought and my mom said this, "Maybe write about a lack of conflict. There's something in your character that has helped you remain conflict free."
I think this is one of the greatest things anyone has ever said to me because it says so much about me in so little time.
It's not that I don't like conflict, or that I try and avoid it, but it's just not there.
I think I'm just really lucky and was put into the right family.
My parents have never yelled at me, always appreciated me, and stood by me no matter what (yes, even through the larger-than-i-expected tattoo on my arm. speaking of, i want another. not yet though).
Really, there's nothing more I could ask for.
