Late Night Conversations

"You never really know a person until you witness their late night blogging."

This statement is so accurate I can't even handle it.
Because really, if someone blogs in the middle of the day, it's SO much different than when they blog at 1:48am like I do. Late night talks (and blogs alike) are, I think, some of the most important we'll ever have in life. Things are said during them that wouldn't be said under other circumstances. I think this sums it up perfectly:
"You’re going to discover that conversations are best at 4am. The heavier the eyelids, the sincerer the words. Those are the talks you’ll remember. It’s okay not to know the answer and silence is not awkward. It’s shared, so share it more often than not."
It might be because it's dark outside, and people feel more comfortable in the dark, or it might be because we tend to stay out later with people who mean more to us, and obviously we open up to them more.
I've been told that nothing good happens after midnight, but my experiences beg to differ. Some of the most meaningful conversations, pictures, meals, etc have taken place in the middle of the night.
A lot of my college stories start with, "Hey remember that time we went [up the canyon, to Idaho, swimming] in the middle of the night?"
I think people are more open and emotional at night than they are in the day, especially as the night goes on and turns into morning. Late night talks are the ones that turn acquaintances into friends, friends into good friends, good friends into best friends, and best friends into brothers or sisters. People's walls come down in the middle of the night, and that, my friends, is beautiful. People tell stories at night that "most people don't know" or "I've never told anyone that."
People's stories are what make them who they are. I'm a firm believer that if someone opens up to you enough to tell it to you, you should seriously appreciate that.
I don't know about you, but I've only heard people's hard-to-tell stories after the sun goes down.

This is just funny :)
